I am wondering why the two black and white dots at the top of the pear. My first reaction is that it represents two eyes. It does seem to humanize the pear. Emily as the artist what was your intent?
I do not have an explanation for “compromise”. Could it be the object is part plant (the pear) and part animal (with eyes)?
I like the differing effect you can get, imagining either the curve below the eyes as a frowning mouth, or imagining the whole lower part of the pear as a screaming mouth.

The pear is plump with Compromise to me. Also those black bits at the top are meant to be eyes.
